Landscape Architecture - Historical Projects

Westport Historical Society

Situated in the center of Westport, Connecticut, and containing both a historic house and barn, the Westport Historical Society is an educational institution dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich history of the Town.  Working in close collaboration with architect Robert Hatch and the Society, our firm developed a landscape master plan to complement an addition to the original, nineteenth-century Italianate structure.

Our design responds to the historical context of the site, provides visual and pedestrian connections to an adjacent public park and downtown shopping district and addresses parking and accessibility requirement in ways that do not detract from the period surroundings.

Merrit Parkway Conservancy

Since 2003, our firm has acted as consulting landscape architects to the Merritt Parkway Conservancy, a non-profit organization dedicated to the revitalization and celebration of the Merritt Parkway.  With the Conservancy, our firm interfaces with the Connecticut Department of Transportation, providing landscape design input on proposed plantings, site furnishings and on-going landscape maintenance practices.

In addition, our firm worked with the Conservancy and Bartlett Tree Experts on the siting and implementation of three separate invasive plant removal projects along the Parkway, in New Canaan, Stamford and Fairfield.
